Ambas condiciones parecen estar relacionadas de una manera multifactorial.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Este <strong>estudio transversal<\/strong> <strong>investig\u00f3 las diferencias entre sexos del riesgo cardiovascular en una cohorte de pacientes con artritis reumatoide. <\/strong>Se incluyeron 820 pacientes (193 hombres y 627 mujeres) de 10 centros reumatol\u00f3gicos italianos.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Se recopilaron diversos datos cl\u00ednicos y demogr\u00e1ficos tales como variables cl\u00ednicas y serol\u00f3gicas de AR, uso de medicamentos o factores de riesgo CV (tradicionales y a 10 a\u00f1os) que se compararon entre hombres y mujeres.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tras los an\u00e1lisis estad\u00edsticos, se observ\u00f3 que la <strong>actividad de la AR fue similar entre los dos sexos, aunque la duraci\u00f3n de la enfermedad era menor en hombres<\/strong>. Se detect\u00f3 una <strong>prevalencia significativamente mayor de factores de riesgo CV tradicionales<\/strong> (\u00edndice de masa corporal, diabetes o tabaquismo) en los <strong>pacientes masculinos<\/strong> en comparaci\u00f3n con los femeninos. Sin embargo, la <strong>prevalencia de hipertensi\u00f3n arterial y uso de f\u00e1rmacos antihipertensivos fue similar<\/strong> entre los grupos.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coincidiendo con datos previos, las <strong>mujeres<\/strong> se caracterizaron por un <strong>mayor \u00edndice de discapacidad<\/strong> en comparaci\u00f3n con los hombres.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>En conclusi\u00f3n, las <strong>variables espec\u00edficas de la AR pueden contribuir de manera diferente al riesgo CV seg\u00fan el sexo<\/strong>.
