Evidence has shown that when patients are fully informed about their options and outcomes, they choose fewer treatments. A study found that less activated patients had 8 percent higher costs in the base year and 21 percent higher costs in the following year than more activated patients. Using this discussion flow could support more patient centred discussions, with the goal to empower women in making purposeful choices about their reproductive health.2
